JAKARTA - The Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral Yudo Margono held a meeting and welcomed the arrival of The commander of The United States Indo-Pacific Command Admiral John Aquiliino upon arriving in Indonesia via Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, East Jakarta, Thursday (11/08/2022).
The arrival of Admiral John Aquiliino who was accompanied by 4 Staff Officers from the American Embassy to review the implementation of the Joint Joint Exercise (Latgabma) Super Garuda Shield which is still ongoing.
In his meeting with Kasal, the four-star Pati expressed his gratitude and was honored for his welcome at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport.
Admiral John Aquiliino also asked about the implementation of the TNI AL Super Garuda Shield Latmagab which had been carried out for some time which also involved several elements of the US Navy warships to support the Navy in the exercise. "We are ready to support Indonesia in holding joint exercises, " he said.
Meanwhile, Kasal Admiral TNI Yudo Margono who was also accompanied by Asintel Kasal, Pangkoopsud I, Danlantamal III and Sintel Hublu expressed appreciation for the support for the US Navy's participation in the Super Garuda Shield joint exercise where the Indonesian Navy deployed four warships namely KRI Bung Tomo-357, KRI Frans Kaisepo-368, KRI John Lie-358, KRI Makassar-590, 1 AKS Panther HS-1311 helicopter, 5 LVT-7 Kormar, and 1 mechanized infantry company as well as two special forces teams from Taifib and Kopaska.
"Indeed, during the Super Garuda Shield exercise, the weather was unfavorable, or the weather was bad, but the exercise went smoothly, " said Kasal.
Kasal also said that the Navy is ready to cooperate and train the US Navy, where the agreement will then be discussed in the Navy To Navy Talk (NTNT).(***)
